Our client, a leading technology company in the consumer electronics sector, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to join their dynamic Human Resources team in Amsterdam. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple European markets including the UK, and the Nordic countries, combining hands-on HR operations with strategic project management.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting both operational and strategic HR initiatives, with a strong focus on payroll system implementation and HR transformation projects. This position is ideal for an adaptable HR professional who thrives in a multicultural environment and enjoys balancing day-to-day HR operations with long-term strategic objectives.
HR Business Partnering (70%)
- Act as a trusted HR partner to business leaders and employees across the UK, and Nordic countries
- Provide strategic and operational HR guidance on performance management, employee relations, engagement, and organisational development
- Support workforce planning, talent management, and organisational changes in close collaboration with local and regional stakeholders
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle including onboarding, contract administration, job changes, and offboarding
- Handle conflict management and employee relations issues with empathy and professionalism
- Ensure alignment with global HR policies whilst maintaining compliance with local labour legislation
- Maintain accurate employee records and reporting in the HRIS system
- Prepare HR data analytics and insights to support decision-making
- Assist monthly payroll processes across assigned countries in partnership with local vendors and finance teams
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with local tax and labour laws
- Manage payroll input, data validation, and approval workflows, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
- Support employees with payroll-related queries and issues
- Act as the key HR contact for payroll-related audits and compliance reviews
- Provide administrative support for the ongoing payroll system implementation project, including migration from multiple payroll providers to a single unified system
- Support the development and implementation of a new HRIS system for payroll processing
- Participate in the upcoming entity consolidation project (321 project), including contract changes, benefits alignment, and insurance harmonisation
- Drive standardisation of HR and payroll processes across supported countries
- Utilise strong Excel skills to manage project data, reporting, and analysis
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency
- Support testing, data migration, and end-user training for new systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5-7 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, preferably in a multinational environment
- Proven experience in multi-country payroll management (UK, Turkey, and/or Nordic countries preferred)
- Strong understanding of local employment laws, payroll compliance, and statutory reporting
- Experience participating in HR or payroll system implementation projects
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cultures
- Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel capabilities and HR data management skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in an environment where processes are still being developed and optimised
- Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar platforms
- Background in scale-up or growing companies where you've been involved in building or developing HR processes
- Experience with payroll systems that integrate with HRIS platforms
- Additional European language skills
- Previous experience in the technology or consumer electronics sector
- CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR certification
