The Junior Analyst, Commercial Excellence supports the Commercial team by leveraging data to drive business insights and improve sales effectiveness. This position focuses on developing and maintaining Power BI and Salesforce (SFDC) dashboards, monitoring weekly sales KPIs, and ensuring high-quality CRM data. The analyst plays a key role in optimizing sales processes and systems, maintaining CRM data integrity, and providing actionable insights through analytics to boost sales efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborating cross-functionally, this role contributes to sales force effectiveness initiatives and helps identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational improvement in a fast-paced medical industry environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Dashboard Development: Build and maintain sales reports and interactive dashboards (in Microsoft Power BI and Salesforce) to track key performance indicators and sales metrics. Ensure these dashboards provide clear, actionable insights to support decision-making by sales and management teams.
- KPI Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor weekly sales KPIs, trends, and performance data, analyzing results to identify patterns or areas for improvement. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders based on the analysis of sales performance.
- CRM Data Quality: Maintain the Salesforce CRM system, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and hygiene through regular audits and updates. Monitor data quality across the CRM, identify and resolve discrepancies, and apply data cleansing techniques to keep information reliable.
- Reporting & Pipeline Management: Generate and disseminate regular reports for management (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) that include sales pipeline analysis, forecast updates, and performance against targets. Own the pipeline reporting process, providing visibility into sales funnel metrics and progress toward goals.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline sales operations and improve workflows (e.g. lead management, reporting processes) for greater efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT) as a data liaison, ensuring their data needs are met. Respond to ad-hoc requests for analysis or reports and collaborate with stakeholders to tailor insights that support both local and global sales initiatives.
- Sales Operations Support: Assist in sales planning and forecasting activities by providing analytical support (e.g. historical trend analysis, data for territory/account planning). Support Sales Force Effectiveness programs by championing the use of CRM tools and best practices within the sales team. Additionally, help with maintaining sales enablement tools and documentation as needed to drive commercial excellence.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. 1–2 years of experience in a sales operations, commercial excellence, or similar analytical role (e.g. business analysis, revenue operations) is required. Experience in the medical/ophthalmic or healthcare industry is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, including proficiency with databases and query languages. Experience with SQL for data querying and DAX for creating custom calculations in Power BI is crucial for this role.
- Business Intelligence Tools: Hands-on experience developing reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI (or similar BI tools) and advanced Excel skills are required. Comfort with Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and data modeling to analyze and present data is expected. Familiarity with additional analytics or data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik) is an advantage.
- CRM Knowledge: Proficiency in Salesforce CRM is essential, including the ability to create reports/dashboards and manage data within the platform. Knowledge of maintaining CRM workflows and data governance best practices will help ensure high data quality (experience with Salesforce administration is a plus).
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate data into insights for non-technical stakeholders. Able to work collaboratively across departments and present findings to management clearly and concisely.
- Detail Orientation: High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy when handling reports and CRM data. The candidate should be organized and capable of managing multiple reporting tasks or projects while meeting deadlines.
- Language & Culture: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in any additional language is a plus (e.g. knowledge of other European languages is advantageous in our international environment).
- Additional Skills: Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn. A proactive attitude towards improving processes and supporting team success in a data-driven commercial excellence function.
