Role Overview

We’re looking for an AI / Machine Learning Engineer to join an international team developing intelligent automation solutions for document and image processing. The role combines hands-on model development with the full lifecycle delivery — from design to production deployment and ongoing improvements.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with Python, open-source AI frameworks, and real-world data to build impactful, production-ready systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and deploy AI models that extract and classify information from documents and visual data sources.
• Work closely with business and product teams to understand real-world requirements and translate them into scalable ML solutions.
• Develop components using Python, ML, and OCR techniques to automate document interpretation and content recognition.
• Take ownership of the entire lifecycle — from prototyping to production deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure reliability, cybersecurity, and maintainability of delivered solutions.
• Continuously improve existing features and introduce new ones using feedback and measurable results.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Document AI or Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) - applying traditional and/or Generative AI methods to extract structured information from unstructured data.
• Strong Python programming skills with production delivery experience.
• Hands-on experience in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, image processing, or OCR.
• Familiarity with one or more AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, spaCy, OpenCV, or Regex-based approaches.
• Understanding of secure coding and resilient API design in production environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL for data storage and model outputs.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure services such as Virtual Machines, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Azure CLI, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in agile teams with frequent, incremental releases to production.
