The Dallas Mavericks are seeking an experienced Director of Technology & Cybersecurity who will be developing and implementing technology and cybersecurity strategies, managing IT infrastructure and staff, ensuring data security, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
Job Function
- Strategy and planning: Develop and implement the organization's overall technology and cybersecurity strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Risk management: Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability tests, and monitor security incidents to protect against cyber threats.
- Incident response: Lead the effort to respond to security breaches and coordinate recovery plans.
- IT infrastructure: Oversee the management of hardware, software, and networks to ensure security, integrity, and availability.
- Team and budget management: Manage the IT and cybersecurity teams, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, as well as developing and managing the IT budget.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to technology and data protection.
- Collaboration: Work with executive leadership and other departments to identify technological needs and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in IT security and technology.
- 10+ years, with a proven track record in managing teams and projects.
- Professional certifications such as CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are often preferred.
- Proficiency in areas like cybersecurity, vulnerability management, risk analysis, and information systems.
- The ability to provide strategic leadership, manage a team, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
