QuantX Labs, based in the vibrant Lot Fourteen innovation precinct in Adelaide, is advancing the frontier of quantum sensing, atomic clocks and satellite payload technologies. We’re a team of engineers, physicists and scientists developing world-first deep-tech solutions with applications across Defence, Space, and critical national infrastructure.

We are seeking a Firmware Engineer who will play a pivotal role in developing, integrating, and optimising firmware for next-generation products, from quantum sensing systems to orbital atomic clocks.

This role is perfect for a curious, driven engineer who thrives in multidisciplinary teams and wants to see their work literally reach orbit.

What You’ll Do

You will work across the full product lifecycle — design, prototyping, integration, and verification — helping turn research into real-world solutions.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Designing and developing firmware, embedded systems and FPGA code for innovative products.
  • Integrating hardware, firmware, and software systems, including defence and satellite payload applications.
  • Implementing digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and real-time embedded control systems.
  • Developing and maintaining communication protocols and embedded Linux systems.
  • Supporting the design and verification of high-speed data acquisition and frequency systems.
  • Contributing to project planning, documentation, and peer review processes.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team of engineers, physicists, and researchers.

About You

You’re technically excellent, detail-oriented, and motivated by complex challenges. You enjoy working on multidisciplinary projects and want to see your work make an impact beyond Earth.
