Role Name: Data Engineer – Azure Synapse / Databricks / Ab Initio

Location: Stockholm, Sweden


Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Synapse Databricks Technical Ab Initio Consultant. This is a business-critical role contributing to the bank’s strategic initiative focused on transforming the distribution model and migrating SAS models and target sourcing. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring stability, scalability, and efficiency in data engineering and analytics processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data processing pipelines using Ab Initio, Azure Synapse, and Databricks.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and architects on SAS model migration and data sourcing strategies.
  • Optimize existing workflows for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Perform Unix administration, scripting, and automation tasks to support ETL processes.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance and security standards.


Competencies

  • Core Technologies: Ab Initio, Unix Administration
  • Cloud & Data Platforms: Azure Synapse, Databricks
  • Database Technologies: SQL, relational databases


Experience Required

6–8 years of overall experience in data engineering and ETL development, with a strong focus on Ab Initio and Unix environments.


Essential Skills

  • Expertise in Ab Initio GDE and Co>Operating System
  • Strong knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting and SQL
  • Experience working with data integration, data migration, and data quality frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills


Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to Azure Synapse, Databricks, and cloud-based data solutions
  • Experience in banking or financial domain
