About Us
We are building a next-generation virtual obesity medicine clinic that integrates three proven components into one patient experience: physician-prescribed GLP-1 medications, virtual dietitian coaching, and medically tailored meals. Our unique, integrated care model requires a sophisticated and robust technology platform to power a seamless patient experience and capture the data needed to prove our value. This venture is being launched out of the venture studio of Healthcare Shares, an early-stage healthcare venture capital firm.
The Opportunity: Build the Operating System for Integrated Virtual Care
We are seeking a brilliant and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to be the architect of our entire technology platform. This is a foundational executive role for a "0 to 1" builder who is passionate about using technology to solve complex healthcare challenges. Your mission is to build the technological backbone that makes our integrated care model possible. This is far more than a simple telehealth app; you will be creating a unified data and engagement platform that must seamlessly orchestrate telehealth consultations, asynchronous coaching interactions, patient-reported outcomes, and complex meal delivery logistics. The ideal candidate is a senior technology leader with deep experience building and scaling secure, HIPAA-compliant, patient-facing platforms in a venture-backed startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Architect the Platform: Lead the design and development of a unified, scalable, and secure technology platform from the ground up, making critical decisions on architecture, stack, and infrastructure.
- Integrate Complex Workflows: Build the software that seamlessly connects our patients, clinicians, dietitians, and meal delivery partners, orchestrating a complex set of digital and physical interactions.
- Establish a World-Class Data Infrastructure: Create a robust data pipeline and infrastructure to capture, integrate, and analyze clinical, behavioral, and outcomes data, which will be the lifeblood of our value-based care model.
- Build and Lead the Team: Recruit, hire, lead, and mentor a world-class, agile engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and speed.
- Ensure Security and Compliance: Own all aspects of technology security and compliance, ensuring our platform meets and exceeds HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.
- Drive the Technology Vision: As a key member of the founding executive team, you will own the long-term technology vision and roadmap, ensuring it aligns with and enables the company's strategic goals.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., CTO, VP of Engineering) at a high-growth, venture-backed startup.
- Proven experience architecting, building, and scaling complex, secure, and compliant platforms in the healthcare or health-tech space is essential.
- Deep technical expertise in modern cloud architecture, data engineering, and building engaging, patient-facing applications.
- An entrepreneurial "builder" with a bias for action and a track record of shipping high-quality products in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- An inspiring leader who can attract top engineering talent and build a strong, positive engineering culture.
- A strategic thinker who can translate business needs into a clear technical vision and roadmap.
