Role Description:
The DataScope suite of applications is part of our Pricing and Reference Service business. It is a respected application used in the wider finance industry where clients can do downloads of Pricing and Reference data in customized and standardized reports. The applications have :4000 external clients who consume financial data to analyse funds and the market position of global industry players.
In this role you will be joining our Pricing & Reference Services Engineer Team to design and implement changes to Oracle Databases; this includes the implementation of new features, performance tuning on Oracle databases, delivery on new programmes of work and management of Oracle Clusters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer data architecture and ETL dataflows in support of enterprise risk management, analytics and reporting.
- Create complex Packages, functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define requirements, design features, and implement solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following standard methodologies.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
- Implement and maintain database security protocols, backup and recovery procedures
- Able to Identify and correct issues related to database performance, data integrity and data synchronization
- Mentor and coach junior database developers, sharing knowledge and standard methodologies.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience of working on Oracle Databases in a low-latency, high-data volume environment,
- Hands on experience in performance tuning Oracle databases and Oracle cluster management.
- Solid grasp of Oracle Functions and hands-on knowledge of PL/SQL (Packages/Functions/Ref cursors).
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and related technologies.
- Ability to work with a team in an Agile environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and collaborators.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time.
- Experience in financial market data or financial products would be a plus.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's or equivalent experience or Master's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
