Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and RESTful APIs for the internal data platform.
- Lead and contribute to migration tasks, including the development of tools for data transfer and updating client SDKs.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution and build-out of next-generation services.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team, program managers, and internal customers to support the deployment of services across multiple accounts and resolve migration issues.
- Assist in transitioning customers from legacy services to new platforms.
- Participate actively in code reviews, contribute to documentation, and uphold high code quality standards.
- Primary Programming: Python (Must-Have for backend development).
- Secondary Programming: Strong knowledge of Java is highly desired.
- System Design: Good knowledge of System Design principles and experience with microservices architecture.
- Distributed Systems: Excellent understanding of data structures and distributed systems.
- Frameworks: Experience with backend frameworks like Spring Boot (Java) and/or Django/Flask (Python).
- Database: Experience with PostgreSQL and Cassandra.
- API: Hands-on experience developing and maintaining RESTful services.
- DevOps/Cloud: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Cloud Platform: Experience working with AWS.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of Apache Spark or other ETL technologies.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
