Role Overview

We’re a small, fast-moving team building an open smart-ring platform that bridges hardware, firmware, and mobile software. You’ll own the mobile stack end-to-end from Bluetooth connectivity and data sync to UI that visualizes live sensor data and collaborate directly with the embedded engineer to test features on real hardware and with early users.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the iOS & Android mobile apps that connect via BLE to our wearable hardware.
• Build features for real-time data streaming, offline data logging, background sync and robust handling of BLE connectivity drop-outs.
• Collaborate tightly with the embedded systems engineer to define BLE GATT services/characteristics, data formats and SDK endpoints.
• Support user studies and research integrations: build visualizations of sensor data, export tools, and feedback loops from pilot users.
• Contribute to a clean SDK for external developers: mobile interface, documentation, sample code.
• Thrive in a fast-moving startup: iterate quickly, ship features end-to-end, and adjust direction based on early user/partner feedback.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in mobile app development (React Native, Flutter or native iOS/Android).
• Strong knowledge of BLE: GATT, streaming data, reconnection/resilience.
• Experience building apps that integrate with hardware/IoT sensors, logging, and synchronization workflows.
• Comfortable owning full features from spec → prototype → production in a lean team.
• Self-starter mindset  small team, high impact, ambiguous tasks, speed is critical.
