Introduction to the position
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Accounting to lead a centralized accounting team within a dynamic, multi-entity organization. This is a senior role responsible for overseeing complex accounting processes, including IFRS reporting, consolidation across multiple entities, and trading operations.
The role requires a strong leader who can manage and mentor a team of junior and part-time staff, ensure process adherence, and support an ERP system transition. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with practical management skills to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in the accounting function.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a centralized accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including bank reconciliations and accruals.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and support multi-entity consolidation activities.
- Monitor and improve accounting processes, identifying gaps and implementing best practices.
- Support the implementation and transition to a new ERP system, ensuring smooth operational adoption.
- Collaborate with senior management on financial reporting, process improvements, and system updates.
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on experience in accounting leadership roles.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to mentor junior staff.
- Experience with ERP systems and willingness to support system implementations.
- Excellent English communication skills; German is advantageous but not required.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
