The Job in a Nutshell
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for leading a team that builds and maintains the technical services supporting our in-house business applications. You’ll work closely with IT Operations and other IT teams to ensure reliable and efficient solutions while driving improvements to workflows and automations that make everyday work smoother across the organization. As a Lead, you’ll provide guidance and support to your team, foster collaboration, and help create an environment where people can grow and deliver their best work.

- Lead and coordinate the daily work of the DevOps team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Set up, maintain, and improve the technical services supporting in-house business applications, ensuring smooth and reliable operations.
- Collaborate with IT Operations and other IT teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues while minimizing downtime.
- Develop, integrate, and maintain tools and scripts to automate workflows and optimize efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and tools, and evaluate new technologies to enhance performance.
- Mentor and support team members in their professional growth, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in planning, prioritization, and progress tracking with Product Managers and stakeholders.
- Promote a positive and transparent team culture built on trust, accountability, and open communication.
- Maintain clear documentation and ensure high levels of service quality and operational excellence.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents when needed to support business continuity.
You're good at
- At least 4 years of experience in systems administration.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or team management role.
- Strong background in monitoring, alerting, and resolving application availability, scalability, and security challenges.
- Hands-on experience with scripting and automation, and managing GitOps workflows using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Flux, Shell, or Python.
- Deep understanding and practical expertise in at least one core technology area:
*Kafka (replication strategies, consumer group design, partitioning)
*PostgreSQL (query planning, indexing, performance tuning, statistics)
*Error handling, logging, monitoring, and alerting systems
*Kubernetes (orchestration, scaling, troubleshooting)
- Proven ability to take ownership of the software lifecycle, including dependency management, security, scalability, documentation, and process improvement.
- Strong experience using and improving automation tools, with the ability to support and mentor others.
- Experience engaging directly with stakeholders and product owners to clarify requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Proactive, analytical, and results-oriented mindset, with strong problem-solving, multitasking, and stress-handling abilities.
- Ability to investigate, analyze, and draw conclusions, as well as learn and support new systems and applications.

This role requires obtaining a gaming license in any jurisdiction in which the company operates, and this position requires the ability to secure and maintain a license in all relevant jurisdictions.
