Algawa, an art outsourcing studio based in Bordeaux, France, is looking for a freelance 2D artist to join one of our client projects in the video game industry.

Mission

You will be responsible for designing and painting icons for game units and their abilities, contributing to the visual language and consistency of the project’s interface and gameplay elements.

The goal is to deliver crisp, modern, and detailed icons that stand out visually while remaining clear and functional at small sizes.

Responsibilities

• Create polished, visually appealing icons that convey character, function, or ability.

• Adapt to or help define the art direction for the icon style.

• Collaborate with the client’s internal art team as part of an embedded remote collaboration (body-lease model).

Profile

• Strong skills in digital painting

• Excellent sense of composition, readability, and symbolic design.

• Ability to match or establish a coherent artistic style.

• Reliable, autonomous, and comfortable working in an international production pipeline.
