iOS Engineer - Core Experience

At Spotify, our team is in Core Experience (CoreX) and shapes the Now Playing view— an iconic part of Spotify’s mobile app. We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other teams to bring intuitive and joyful playback features, like Smart Shuffle and enhanced playback controls, to millions of listeners worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Build and improve iOS features that make Spotify playback seamless and delightful.
• Work with Android engineers, product managers, and designers to shape features from concept to release.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards.
• Collaborate on technical investigations and architecture improvements for the Spotify mobile app.
• Take ownership of tasks, from feature development to debugging and optimization.
• Use curiosity and innovation—including AI tools like Claude or Gemini—to improve workflows and learning.
  
  

Who You Are

• You have solid experience with Swift, UIKit and familiarity or curiosity with SwiftUI.
• You have a solid grasp of modern iOS development practices and tools.
• You enjoy working collaboratively in mixed-discipline teams (iOS, Android, Design, Product).
• You value clear communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• You’re curious, proactive, and open to experimenting with new technologies.
• You’re interested in how AI can enhance workflows and know when to use it to move faster.
• You bring empathy and user focus to every product decision.
  
  

Where You'll Be

• This role is based in Stockholm or London.
• We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 3 times per week.
