Lead Technical Engineer

About the Position:


As a Lead Technical Engineer, you will oversee and manage all technical and engineering activities related to water transmission pipeline projects. Review, validate, and provide guidance on design drawings, shop drawings, and as-built submissions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and coordinate utility corridor alignments, including buried pipelines, Cut & Cover, HDD, and microtunneling works.
  • Analyze and confirm critical design elements such as hydraulic profiles, valve chamber configurations, thrust blocks, encasement designs, and associated civil structures.
  • Conduct and lead technical coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, site teams, and authority representatives.
  • Prepare, review, and approve technical submittals, method statements, and material approvals in line with TRANSCO and UAE standards.
  • Ensure integration and clash-free coordination of Combined Utility Corridor (CUC) drawings.
  • Supervise and verify field modifications, redline markups, and site adjustments for compliance with approved designs.
  • Manage and support NOC submissions and liaise with local authorities (ADDC, ADM, EAD, and others).
  • Provide technical leadership to the project team and ensure quality control, documentation, and compliance at every stage.
  • Support tendering and bid preparation by offering technical insights and design input.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in utility engineering, with at least 5 years in TRANSCO or large-scale GCC water infrastructure projects.
  • Strong command of TRANSCO standards, UAE authority procedures, and infrastructure approval workflows.
  • Proven experience in pipeline construction methodologies — Cut & Cover, HDD, and microtunneling.
  • Solid understanding of inshore/offshore construction challenges, environmental compliance, and ROW management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and the ability to review technical CAD drawings critically.
  • Expertise in Design, Engineering, Instrumentation & Control (I&C), RTU/SCADA, and execution of Water Transmission Pipeline Projects (TRANSCO).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
