Compensation: $85–$125/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: 24-hour sprint
Commitment: Task-based

Position: Software Engineer

Role Responsibilities
- Analyze large, production-grade repositories to create and evaluate technically challenging coding questions.
- Systematically explore multiple modules and connect related functions across files.
- Assess how advanced AI systems reason about architecture, data flow, and performance.
- Influence AI model learning by citing specific files, functions, and line numbers.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and improve AI model performance.
Must-Have
- 3+ years of elite software engineering experience at top-tier startups or similar environments.
- Experience using coding agents or LLMs like Copilot, Claude, GPT-4, or Replit Agents.
- Computer Science degree from a leading university or equivalent practical expertise.
- Fluent in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; comfortable reading Java, Go, or other modern languages.
- Strong architectural understanding and ability to connect distributed logic across files.
- Next 1–2 weeks
- Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
- Hourly contractor through Mercor.
