Job Purpose
Reporting into the Planning Manager the incumbent will play a crucial role in the project management and execution process by creating, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules and dashboard. You will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure that real-estate projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your focus will be on creating realistic project timelines, identifying potential risks and bottlenecks, and proposing mitigation strategies. You will use project management software and tools to track progress and communicate updates to the project team.
Responsibilities
- Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) to ensure accurate and detailed representation of tasks, milestones, and dependencies.
- Timeline Management: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to establish realistic project timelines and milestones. Continuously monitor progress against these milestones and make adjustments as needed.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and risks that might impact project timelines. Work with the project team to develop mitigation plans to address these risks.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate with resource managers to allocate the necessary personnel, equipment, and materials to support project schedules.
- Communication: Regularly communicate project progress, updates, and potential delays to project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on project timelines.
- Data Analysis: Analyze project data and performance metrics to assess project health and identify trends that may impact project execution. Use this information to recommend improvements and adjustments to schedules.
- Change Management: Evaluate the impact of scope changes and change requests on project schedules. Provide insights to project managers for decision-making related to scope changes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project schedules, changes, and related documentation. Ensure proper version control of schedules and associated files.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, process improvements, and lessons learned related to project scheduling and planning.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to project team members on project management tools and techniques, emphasizing effective planning and scheduling practices.
Qualifications
- Graduate in Civil Engineering along with strong knowledge of Primavera and MS Project Software.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a similar capacity working with a reputable main contractor or developer on high-rise residential projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address potential project delays and risks.
