We’re looking for a Staff Engineer (Frontend) to help drive technical direction, own critical front-end systems, and partner with product and design to deliver high-quality, scalable experiences.
You will set the bar for engineering excellence, lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers across squads, and champion world-class usability, performance, and reliability across our front-end stack.
This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role — shaping our front-end platform, accelerating developer experience, and guiding our vision for modern, AI-powered product interfaces.
What you will do
Technical Leadership & Execution
- Lead architecture and delivery of complex, high-impact front-end initiatives and shared UI systems
- Design and evolve scalable, modular front-end architectures and codebases across multiple product surfaces
- Own core front-end infrastructure, micro-frontend patterns, and shared component libraries
- Build high-performing, secure, accessible, and responsive interfaces with exceptional UX quality
- Ensure high coverage with automated testing, type-safe systems, and robust release pipelines
Platform & Developer Experience
- Drive front-end platform improvements including tooling, performance, observability, and CI/CD workflows
- Establish coding standards, documentation practices, and frontend governance models.
- Champion fast, reliable, AI-assisted developer workflows and efficient local dev environments
Cross-Functional Influence
- Collaborate deeply with Product, Design, and Engineering leads to define the frontend roadmap
- Lead technical discovery, RFCs, architectural reviews, and cross-team platform initiatives
- Drive accessibility, internationalisation, performance, and usability best practices
Mentorship & Culture
- Provide mentorship and technical coaching to engineers across squads
- Champion engineering quality, customer empathy, and continuous improvement
- Lead by example — solving hard problems, unblocking teams, and elevating engineering standards
What you'll need?
- 10-12 years of overall product development experience only
- 7+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale SaaS front ends using React, Typescript, and modern web technologies. Familiarity with Remix, Next.js, Storybook, and design systems is a bonus
- You bring knowledge of web application architecture, performance optimisation, accessibility, and user-centric design. You’re comfortable “owning” the quality and standard of solutions delivered
- Experience in POS, payments, or mission-critical SaaS products
- Experience with micro-frontends, edge delivery, secure browser apps, offline-capable systems
- You’ve contributed to shaping internal engineering practices or frameworks, led significant technical initiatives, and coached peers or juniors to higher quality and autonomy
- Strong experience with CI/CD, automated testing, telemetry, and production monitoring of front-end systems
- Strong product mindset — balancing shipping velocity with long-term quality and maintainability
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing cross-team technical direction
