Job Description
The Regional Art Producer – Australia and Japan leads Keywords Studios Australia (KWA) dedicated art studio, delivering world-class art services across multiple game genres and platforms. This new role is a key regional leadership position within the global Liquid Development network, ensuring that APAC-based art production is fully integrated with Liquid’s global operations while meeting the needs of KWA’s internal studios and external clients.
Working closely with the Studio Head of Liquid Development (USA - primary reporting line) and maintaining a dotted-line relationship to the CEO of KWA, the Regional Art Producer will align Australia and Japan art production strategy with both Liquid’s global service standards and KWA’s label-based creative vision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES will include:
Opportunity & Project Management
- Act as a primary stakeholder for all new opportunities coming into Liquid Gold.
- Partner with the Liquid Development Studio Operations Director, Studio Art Director, and other Regional Producers to scope teams, estimate costs, and allocate resources.
- Support the Liquid Development Studio Operations Director in reviewing project feasibility, timelines, and budget alignment.
- Maintain strong relationships with KWS Studio and Production Heads in the region.
- Coordinate with KWS teams on art development needs for pitches, co-development, and full-production projects.
- Represent Liquid Gold’s interests and capabilities across KWS regional operations.
- Ensure project onboarding readiness, including infosec compliance, IP whitelisting, and engine/tools access.
- Drive regional operational initiatives in partnership with local KWS departments, including:
- Talent Acquisition: Support recruitment strategy and headcount planning.
- People & Culture (HR): Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle, department performance reviews and performance management.
- IT & Infrastructure: Coordinate accounts, workstation setups, systems access and licencing.
- Finance & Payroll: Review and approve departmental spend, including invoices for payment, review and approve employee leave requests.
- Serve as a cultural ambassador for Liquid Gold, fostering a unified studio identity across multiple regions.
- Support team engagement, morale, and communication between local and global leadership.
- Collaborate with career managers to guide regional team development and career growth.
- Maintain awareness of regional financial and legal factors that affect operations, including:
- Tax credits, incentives, and funding programs.
- Currency and cost-of-living fluctuations.
- Awards, labour and employment laws.
- Track team pay scales and market competitiveness to inform compensation planning, in coordination with People & Culture.
- Identify and address skill gaps to strengthen versatility and delivery capacity within the regional team.
- Regularly sync with the Studio Operations Director and Studio Art Director on project and staffing updates.
- Collaborate with fellow Regional Producers to balance workloads and support shared production needs.
- Attend client or partner meetings as needed to represent regional operations.
- Review project performance, report key metrics, and propose operational improvements.
- Champion process efficiency, communication, and best practices across projects and teams.
Essential
- 8+ years in art production or art leadership within the games industry.
- Proven track record delivering AAA, AA, or high-profile indie titles.
- Strong understanding of all art disciplines: concept, modelling, texturing, animation, lighting, UI.
- Deep knowledge of game engines (Unreal, Unity) and art tools (Maya, Blender, Photoshop, Substance Suite).
- Experience managing teams across multiple geographies.
- Ability to work within a global matrix reporting structure.
- Experience in outsourcing management in APAC.
- Familiarity with global art production vendor networks.
- Understanding of cultural and operational nuances across APAC territories.
- Alignment of Australia and Japan art production with Liquid Development’s global standards.
- High client satisfaction ratings across APAC and global projects.
- On-time, on-budget delivery of all Australia and Japan art milestones.
- Strong retention and growth of key regional art talent.
- Positive feedback from both Studio Head of Liquid Development and KWA’s CEO on collaboration and performance.
