Full-timeEngineering, Information Technology

Lucky Robots is building the world’s first Game Engine for Robotics - a real-time 3D simulation

and training platform where AI learns to move, manipulate, and understand the physical world.

We’re building a next-generation simulation engine for robotics — combining the worlds of real-time graphics, physics, and AI. Our goal is to make lifelike, large-scale robot training and testing environments accessible and fast.

As an early engineer on this team, you’ll have the chance to shape the core architecture and design systems of the engine itself. We move quickly, experiment often, and value people who enjoy solving complex problems in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment where ideas become reality fast.

We’re looking for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join our Core Technology team,

working on the foundational systems that power our in-house robotics simulation engine.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer on the Core team, you will:

● Design, implement, and maintain various systems in our custom robotics game engine

● Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code, with a strong focus on performance

and reliability

● Review designs and code from peers to ensure high technical standards across the

team

● Optimize engine subsystems for stability, scalability, and runtime efficiency

● Collaborate with other engineers and disciplines (AI, simulation, physics, graphics) to

integrate new features and improve the developer experience

● Contribute to architectural discussions and share technical insights that shape the

evolution of the engine

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Software

Engineering, or a related field

● 5+ years of professional experience in modern C++ and solid understanding of software

architecture

● Proven experience developing high-performance, real-time, and multi-threaded systems

● Experience with parallel programming and multi-threading, including synchronization, job

systems, and data-oriented design

● Experience working with or building game engines (e.g. Unreal, Unity, or

proprietary/in-house engines)

● Strong understanding of 3D engine architecture and various systems

● Solid grasp of mathematics for 3D applications - Linear Algebra, Geometry, Calculus,

and Trigonometry

● Understanding of software development life cycle, software engineering methodologies

and practices, and software quality assurance concepts

Bonus

● Experience with graphics APIs (Vulkan, Direct3D 12, Metal, etc.) is a strong plus

● Experience with C# and scripting systems

● Experience developing simulation or robotics software

● Contributions to open-source engine or graphics projects

● Passion for AI, physics, or the intersection of robotics and interactive 3D environments
