Role Overview
We're seeking an Agile Project Manager to coordinate and lead our UX/UI design initiatives. This pivotal role will be the primary link between our design team, product management, and engineering, ensuring the timely, high-quality, and efficient delivery of user-centered design solutions. The ideal candidate blends deep Agile/Scrum expertise with a strong understanding of the design process and lifecycle, including UX research, UI development, and design systems.
Key Responsibilities
Project and Process Leadership
- Planning & Execution: Create and maintain sprint calendars, milestones, and delivery timelines for the design team, ensuring alignment with overall product roadmaps.
- Agile/Scrum Management: Lead all Agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming) to maintain rhythm and accountability.
- Resource & Risk Management: Proactively balance workload and capacity across the design team, identifying potential blockers, risks, and dependencies, and developing clear mitigation plans.
- Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine the design workflow and processes for greater efficiency, speed, and quality.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear roadmaps, deliverable trackers, and performance dashboards to provide transparent updates to stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central hub, fostering seamless communication and strong working relationships among UX, UI, Product, and Development teams.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Bridge business goals with design priorities, translating complex strategic objectives into clear, actionable next steps for the design team.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts, effectively managing and communicating trade-offs between design quality, business requirements, and development feasibility.
- User Story Creation: Expertly write and refine design-friendly User Stories from business requirements, complete with clear acceptance criteria that focus on user experience and visual design.
- Quality Awareness: Champion accessibility and usability awareness, ensuring compliance and best practices are integral to all design deliverables.
- Design System Integration: Ensure all design work aligns with and leverages the existing Design System and reusable UI components.
- Research Integration: Understand and facilitate how UX research and testing findings are fed back into and inform design iterations and sprints.
- Prioritization: Drive effective backlog management by helping the team prioritize critical UX fixes and high-impact features over “nice-to-have” tasks.
- KPI Tracking: Track and report on key performance indicators such as sprint velocity, design throughput, and output to measure and improve team performance.
- Problem-Solving: Turn ambiguous or vague requests into clear, scoped deliverables and structured design tasks.
