Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of IT Security EMEA to Landis+Gyr’s EMEA cyber security function. Reporting directly to the EMEA CIO, this role is responsible for defining and implementing a comprehensive cyber security strategy that safeguards our information assets, systems, and networks. Based in Finland, the Head of Security will drive the company’s cyber resilience by establishing governance structures, ensuring operational excellence, and managing risk across all business areas. This role will also act as the primary escalation point for major cyber incidents and will serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on security risks and mitigation measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA cyber security program in alignment with business priorities and risk appetite.
- Oversee the operational effectiveness of cyber security services, tools, and technologies, ensuring protection of systems and data.
- Establish and maintain security governance frameworks, policies, and reporting processes.
- Chair relevant security committees and define cyber security project priorities and improvement roadmaps.
- Act as the primary escalation point for major cyber security incidents, coordinating internal and external stakeholders during incident response.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging threats, regulations, and best practices, ensuring timely adaptation of security measures.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Applications, Legal, HR, and Compliance teams to implement integrated security measures across EMEA.
- Lead vulnerability management, access management, monitoring, and event handling.
- Provide guidance to management on cyber risks and the secure implementation of new technologies.
- Oversee security awareness and training programs to strengthen organizational security culture.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the EMEA cyber security team, fostering a culture of vigilance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Degree in Business IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Cyber Security, including operational responsibility; 10+ years in IT overall.
- Proven experience in building and maturing cyber security programs and leading technical teams.
- Strong understanding of cyber security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
- Expertise in security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and IAM.
- Experience working with managed security service providers and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC are preferred.
- Fluent in English; other European languages are an advantage.
- Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to continuous learning.
