Our client is one of Ireland’s leading Managed Service Providers, recognised for delivering secure, intelligent, and modern IT solutions across both public and private sectors. With operations spanning multiple locations in Ireland, the company has developed a strong reputation for enabling clients to modernise, secure, and intelligently transform their IT environments through the convergence of cybersecurity, cloud, and AI.
As the business continues its evolution toward becoming a Managed Intelligence Provider, it is creating a new strategic division focused on Data and Artificial Intelligence. This is a unique opportunity to lead that transformation and define how AI can securely and responsibly drive innovation, efficiency, and value across clients and internal operations.
Purpose of the Role
The Head of AI will establish and lead a new division focused on the design, delivery, and management of AI-enabled solutions. The successful candidate will define and implement the company’s AI strategy, develop commercial service offerings, and integrate AI across all areas of the organisation.
This is a senior leadership role combining strategic vision, technical expertise, and commercial impact—ideal for a forward-thinking technology leader who can bridge business goals with intelligent, secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a company-wide AI strategy aligned with broader business objectives and service portfolios.
- Capability Development: Build the AI and data function from the ground up, including frameworks, methodologies, and new service lines (e.g. AI Readiness, AI Implementation, Data Governance, Managed Intelligence).
- Solution Design & Delivery: Lead the design and deployment of AI solutions for clients, ensuring seamless integration with Microsoft and other partner technologies.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure AI initiatives align with global standards for data privacy, ethics, and cybersecurity, including GDPR, ISO 27001, and DORA.
- Innovation & Internal Enablement: Drive the adoption of AI internally to enhance automation, analytics, and operational performance.
- Partnership Management: Collaborate with major technology partners—particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem—to leverage the latest AI and data platforms.
- Thought Leadership & Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor and industry ambassador, representing the business at client forums, events, and panels.
- Commercial Growth: Translate AI innovation into scalable, revenue-generating service offerings and recurring managed service models.
- Proven experience in AI strategy, data analytics, or digital transformation leadership, ideally within a Managed Service Provider, consultancy, or enterprise environment.
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft AI ecosystem (Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Fabric, Power Platform, M365) and its commercial use cases.
- Strong grounding in data architecture, governance, and compliance.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering AI initiatives that achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Experience building and leading cross-functional teams (data engineers, AI specialists, analysts, consultants).
- Commercial acumen and the ability to convert emerging technologies into scalable, profitable solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at Board and executive client levels.
- Awareness of AI ethics, responsible AI principles, and upcoming regulatory requirements within the EU
