One of DuPont's largest facilities is in Luxembourg, where two different products are manufactured. One of them is Typar®, which, with its specific properties, is used, among other things, as a geotextile in the construction of landscapes and infrastructure. The other is Tyvek®, which because of its unique properties is used in the construction industry, medical packaging industry, protective clothing and graphic applications.
As part of our Tyvek® growth plan, we are seeking a Tyvek® R&D Laboratory Technician (m/f/d) who will support the R&D team.
This hiring initiative represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic empowered R&D team that applies a rich understanding of materials, polymer science, chemistry, chemical and mechanical engineering in a very diverse environment with the mission to develop nonwoven membrane solutions that protect people, property and critical products and processes from the hazards that threaten them.
Job Description – R&D Laboratory Technician
- Works in laboratory and production environments safely including identification of appropriate personal safety equipment for handling chemicals
- Performs laboratory tests under minimum supervision
- Responsible for maintaining the operational capability of lab equipment
- Acquires data to solve technical problems and to support development programs
- Coordinates and checks work- and test-requests, communicates test results and writes reports
- Provides assistance to R&D test preparation, execution and analysis, complaint investigation and quality control
- Master or Bachelor in Material Science or Chemistry or related discipline, ’DT (Diplôme de technicien); BTS; BAC Techno STL (Science et Technologies du Laboratoire); Chemielaborant:in; Chemisch-Technische:r-Assistent:in or equivalent’
- Several years of practical experience in a Material Science laboratory is an advantage
- Knowledge in laboratory method development, method validation and statistical analysis
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German, French and Luxembourgish are a plus
- Analytical thinking
