🔐 Cloud Security Engineer

Arnhem / Hybrid ( 2 days in office per week)

Monies €77k - €90k

This is one of those rare security roles where you actually get to build the foundation, not just inherit someone else’s mess.

You’d be joining a platform that already powers some of Europe’s largest EV-charging networks. It’s real, it’s scaling fast, and it touches everything from energy to payments to mobility.

That scale brings complexity, and that’s exactly why this role exists.

You’ll be the first dedicated Cloud Security Engineer in the company, setting the standard for how things are secured across infra, code, and culture. You’ll shape the Azure architecture, automate compliance, and make security something engineers can work with, not around.

It’s equal parts architecture, engineering, and detective work. You’ll be hands-on, embedded in the build, and have a clear path to grow into full ownership of the domain.

What you’ll actually do:

  • Design and maintain secure Azure cloud architectures (vNet, WAF, Key Vault, Entra ID, etc.)
  • Automate controls and monitoring using IaC (Terraform/Bicep) and policy-as-code
  • Embed security into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Defender for Cloud, etc.)
  • Translate frameworks like ISO27001 into practical, engineer-friendly actions
  • Proactively spot and mitigate risks before they turn into incidents

Why it’s interesting:

  • First in the seat. No legacy, no firefighting old debt, a real chance to shape the blueprint.
  • Serious scale. 50+ engineers, microservices architecture, fully Azure-native stack (.NET 8, Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos, App Insights, Grafana).
  • Security with autonomy. You’ll work directly with leadership, not buried in a compliance layer.
  • Visible impact. Every improvement you make keeps real-world charging sessions secure.
  • Long runway. Clear growth into company-wide Security Lead responsibilities.

You like clean architecture, automation, and bringing order to fast-moving environments. You’ve been in cloud security for 5+ years, ideally with Azure, and you understand both the technical and human sides of keeping things secure.

In short, you’ll be the person who makes sure one of Europe’s fastest-growing EV-tech platforms keeps scaling, securely.

A proper builder. Interesting enough? Good, then let's find a time to talk about the role in a lot more detail.
