This organisation are leading the way in driving sustainable practices and integrating AI, IoT and Machine Learning, and are currently going through an exciting phase of expansion.
As part of their continued innovation strategy, they’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Sales Insight team. This is a small, high impact data team that yields real influence over how data is leveraged to drive competitive edge in the market.
In the role, you will leverage your expertise in data modelling, analysis, forecasting, regression, and machine learning to drive data-informed decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Building, coding, and maintaining advanced predictive models for sales insight.
- Volume Prediction
- Segmentation Modelling - Build and maintain segmentation models to inform and support sales strategies.
- Apply AI/ML techniques to input data to generate predictive insights and automate decision-making processes.
- Forecasting and Prediction - Design and implement forecasting models to predict short- and long-term parcel flows and volumes.
- Leverage advanced machine learning methods to improve the accuracy and reliability of demand forecasts.
- Data Science Engineering - Work with data engineers to design and deploy scalable data pipelines for processing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets.
- Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Databricks to develop and operationalize data science solutions.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on data modelling, forecasting, and optimization.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in machine learning libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
- Hands-on experience with the Databricks platform is crucial, as this is where the primary model work will occur; Apache Spark serves as the core engine for distributed data processing, Delta Lake ensures ACID, MLflow, Databricks Notebooks
