Job Requirements
YOUR ROLE
As Chief Information Security Officer at SSC, you will lead the strategic and operational direction of our global information and cybersecurity efforts. You will shape how SSC protects its data, systems and digital assets across space operations, satellite communications, and research services, ensuring our mission-critical activities remain secure, resilient, and compliant.
In this role, you will develop and maintain SSC’s information security strategy, governance model and cybersecurity framework. You will serve as both strategic advisor and hands-on driver, balancing long-term direction with daily operational excellence.
You Will Also
- Lead and develop SSC’s cybersecurity and information protection agenda across all business divisions.
- Bethe process owner for cybersecurity, ensuring consistent governance and compliance across the organization.
- Drive privacy-by-design and responsible data handling.
- Manage the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), ensuring readiness and rapid response to threats.
- Support and advise development teams and business leaders on secure design and risk management.
- Educate and empower employees on information security best practices across the organization.
- Build and maintain efficient security routines, reports and dashboards to strengthen insight and transparency.
- Lead, mentor and inspire your team, fostering a collaborative, innovative and trust-based culture.
Job Responsibilities
WHO YOU ARE
You are an experienced cybersecurity leader with a deep understanding of both strategy and execution. You combine technical credibility with sound judgement and strong leadership skills. You enjoy working in a dynamic environment where your decisions truly make a difference for the business, for our partners, and for the safety of our missions.
You hold a higher academic degree in Engineering or Science and have:
- Extensive experience (10+ years) within information security and cybersecurity management.
- Experience of working with frameworks like NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC
- Proven experience in leading teams and driving complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- A strong understanding of GDPR and data protection frameworks.
- The ability to navigate and solve technically complex challenges under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.
Experience in defense, intelligence or government security roles, as well as from cloud environments like AWS or Azure, is highly valued.
Due to the nature of our operations and the high security requirements of this position, Swedish citizenship is a requirement.
