🎯 Role Summary

We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer (Intermediate Level) to help design and deliver automation solutions that leverage Python, APIs, Cloud AI services, RPA tools, and Large Language Models (LLMs).

In this role, you will contribute to building AI-enhanced automation workflows that optimize internal processes and enable scalable, intelligent operations. You’ll work closely with senior engineers to integrate LLMs and cloud-based AI tools into real-world automation systems.

This is a remote contract position for EU-based professionals who are passionate about combining software engineering and applied AI.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

Automation & AI Engineering

• Develop and maintain Python automation scripts to streamline processes and integrate AI-driven functionalities.
• Support the design of LLM-powered workflows using APIs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Gemini for text generation, summarization, and data extraction tasks.
• Assist in implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, or pgvector).
• Contribute to the optimization and reliability of automation services in production environments.

API Development & Integration

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs for communication between AI services, internal tools, and automation layers.
• Connect Cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP) to RPA workflows and data pipelines.
• Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring for API-based automation tasks.

RPA & Workflow Automation

• Support automation processes using RPA platforms such as UiPath, Power Automate, or Robocorp.
• Configure and maintain workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, n8n, or Zapier) for task scheduling and process chaining.
• Document automation procedures and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Deployment & Cloud Operations

• Work with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Run) for deployment.
• Monitor and maintain automation scripts and AI agents on cloud infrastructure (AWS Lambda, GCP Functions, Azure Functions).
• Apply best practices for security, scalability, and performance optimization.

🧩 Required Skills & Experience

• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, automation, or applied AI.
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Flask, requests, pandas).
• Working knowledge of APIs, JSON, and data transformation.
• Hands-on experience with at least one Cloud AI platform (AWS AI, Azure AI, or GCP Vertex AI).
• Exposure to LLMs and tools such as LangChain or LlamaIndex is a plus.
• Familiarity with RPA tools (UiPath, Power Automate, or similar).
• Basic understanding of vector databases (Pinecone, Chroma, FAISS).
• Comfortable working in a cloud-native, remote, and agile team environment.

🌐 Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience building small-scale AI chatbots or assistants.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM API integration patterns.
• Familiarity with MLOps or LLMOps concepts (monitoring, model lifecycle, token usage tracking).
• Basic exposure to data visualization or analytics dashboards.

🎓 Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
