As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on IoT, you will play a key role in developing next-generation software for Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). You will design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance distributed systems that power electric vehicle architectures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, low-latency solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including event-driven systems, cloud-native applications, and real-time data streaming. As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on IoT, you will play a key role in developing next-generation software for Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including event-driven systems, cloud-native applications, and real-time data streaming. You will have a direct impact on shaping innovative automotive software while ensuring reliability and scalability in production systems. The role also involves participating in on-call rotations to maintain system uptime and address critical production issues.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain distributed systems for IoT and SDV architectures
- Build efficient, fault-tolerant systems using event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka and Redis
- Write high-quality, maintainable code in Go (GoLang) with robust test coverage
- Deploy and manage cloud-based applications, particularly on AWS, ensuring scalability and high availability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into reliable technical solutions
- Monitor, debug, and optimize applications, proactively addressing performance and latency issues
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and tools
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends, holidays, and off-hours, to resolve critical production issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on distributed systems
- Proficiency in Go (GoLang) programming and experience developing production-grade applications
- Strong foundation in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and message brokers such as Kafka
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and cloud-native design patterns
- Familiarity with Redis for caching or distributed data structures
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Amazon CloudWatch) and debugging production systems
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams
- Ability to work onsite at the designated office three days per week, with flexibility for remote work two days per week
- Competitive salary range: CAD $96,800 - $121,000 (based on experience and location)
