About The Role
As a Junior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analysing large amounts of raw data to help inform PointsBet's marketing activity. A key focus of the role surrounds optimisation of promotional performance and marketing investment. Responsibilities will also include support of a range of machine learning models on customer segmentation to inform CRM activity. To create efficiencies in the decision-making process, the junior data scientist will also build automated reporting which will enable the business to track performance in real time.
Role Responsibilities
- Build and improve customer valuation models, including models to help optimise promotional spend
- Build predictive models and deliver data-driven insights for customers and marketing functions of the business
- Ad-hoc data queries relating to performance and health of the business, in relation to client quality, promotion performance and efficiency of marketing spend
- Work closely with stakeholders to help drive business decisions
- Solve business problems using a wide variety of data science techniques
- Collaborate closely with leads and team members in the Data Science team
- Build reports to understand shifts in customer behaviour that affect business performance
- Communicate or present data modelling findings with the broader team, and document modelling techniques for sharing across the business
- Proficiency in SQL, Python or R highly regarded
- Experience building statistical/machine learning models
- Good understanding of statistical analysis and probability.
- Experience in wagering applications highly regarded
- Ability to produce dashboards (Power BI experience desirable)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise with different stakeholders around the business to collaborate on projects
