We are seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to support one of our biggest vendors in Belgium the migration of its GEOSYS test processing modules from Visual Basic desktop applications to Java-based web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain a thorough understanding of existing GEOSYS applications and their functionalities.
• Analyze the interaction between GEOSYS modules and the broader system landscape.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather and validate requirements.
• Produce detailed functional analyses and documentation.
• Define and document User Stories and Epics with clear acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Collaborate with the development team and IT Manager on sprint planning, development schedules, and release content.
• Conduct first-line testing and coordinate broader test sessions.
• Collect and evaluate feedback from interim and final releases.
• Contribute to production readiness planning and deployment considerations.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and user manuals.
• Track bugs, enhancement requests, and changes for related applications, including:
• Geocore (file management)
• Laboratory Reporting (test monitoring and scheduling)
• Drilling Record & Sample Management (sample tracking)
• Cone Probing
• Support the APEX team with analyses where interdependencies exist.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of requirement analysis, data and process modelling, and system design.
• Knowledge of OO (Object-Oriented), multi-tier, and web-enabled environments; familiarity with UML.
• Experience collaborating with software development teams using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Technical understanding of Java web application development and PostgreSQL environments.
• Familiarity with Visual Basic (for reference analysis of legacy modules).
