About The Role

As an Associate AI & Software Engineer, you are interested in what happens under the hood of modern software solutions and system architectures. You are also passionate about good software engineering practices, modern ways of working and solving complex business problems with technology.

You’ll get to work together with other Vuono Group software, data and business engineers in a cross-competence team, helping our clients improve their business processes with software, process analysis and AI. In practice, this means building systems, services, architectures, automations, AI solutions and APIs that make our customers’ businesses more efficient. The projects you'll work with typically involve complex business and technical problems.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an expert. What really counts is your hunger to solve business challenges with technology and your drive to keep learning. The following will help you hit the ground running:

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Programming skills / familiarity with one or two technologies such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, Clojure, Scala, .NET, AWS/Azure/GCP, iOS/Android, React Native or some other back-end or front-end technology.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and an interest in AI engineering — for example, using APIs like OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Hugging Face; fine-tuning or integrating LLMs; or automating workflows with AI assistants and agents.
• Self-driven attitude and analytical mindset
• Clear communication skills in Finnish and English
• Curiosity about consulting and eagerness to grow client-facing, project management and problem-solving skills
• We work closely with our clients, often on-site. We’re therefore looking for candidates who live in, or are planning to move to, the Greater Helsinki area.

To ensure you learn and have a real opportunity to make an impact (and not just eat ice cream in an empty office in July), our associates usually start after the summer holidays — around August or later if agreed. This is a 6-month fixed-term position to start, with the possibility to continue based on project needs and performance.
