Christy Media is working with a leading provider of real-time streaming technology that powers interactive, ultra-low latency video experiences for customers worldwide, including corporate events, auctions, eSports, education, and live productions.

We’re seeking a Senior Streaming Backend Engineer (Go) to join their growing platform engineering team. You’ll design and build the high-performance systems that sit at the heart of global, real-time media delivery.

This role will suit someone who loves tackling complex technical challenges, optimising for speed and scale, and working in a collaborative, engineering-led culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance core streaming engines written in Go
  • Design scalable, reliable backend architectures for real-time delivery
  • Optimise performance across TCP, UDP, and HTTP/1/2/3
  • Build robust observability, testing, and deployment processes
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineers

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in backend development using Go or similar systems languages
  • Proven expertise in low-latency, distributed backend systems
  • Excellent understanding of networking protocols and performance tuning
  • Experience with benchmarking, profiling, and debugging complex systems
  • Clear communicator who enjoys sharing knowledge and improving team practices

Tech Environment

Go (primary) | Node.js | TCP / UDP / HTTP | Linux / Ubuntu | CI/CD | Git

Bonus skills: RTMP, WebRTC, WebTransport/MOQ, C/C++, Docker
