Are you an expert in technical architecture and software delivery, ready to make a real impact on mission-critical airline systems? We’re seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to elevate engineering standards, drive system design, and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable software solutions.

About the Role

This is a technical management position (not people management), focused on architecture, technical delivery, and operational excellence across business-critical platforms. You’ll influence senior stakeholders, set high standards for code quality and automation, and help shape sustainable engineering practices. This role requires onsite presence in Dublin at least once per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical lifecycle of key systems: architecture, build, release, and ongoing support
• Champion code quality through peer reviews, guidance, and embedding best testing practices
• Lead architectural decisions for critical systems (e.g., broker services, check-in kiosks)
• Drive scalable, maintainable system design; collaborate with ops and QA for seamless deployment and alerting
• Communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities like performance, reliability, and scalability

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive hands-on software development and system architecture experience
• Advanced Java and Groovy skills, with strong Spring Boot / Spring Framework expertise
• Deep understanding of software quality, design patterns, clean code, and modern engineering best practices
• Proven experience with automated deployment and testing pipelines (CI/CD)
• Ability to influence technical direction and senior business leaders, especially regarding non-functional requirements (scalability, reliability, alerting)
• Experience supporting/maintaining large-scale production systems with a focus on uptime and stability

Desirable Skills

• Experience with MongoDB (performance tuning, schema design)
• Hands-on AWS knowledge (especially Lambda/serverless)
• Exposure to the airline industry (operational disruption, check-in systems)
