DevOps Engineer - Dublin
About the Role
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with software engineering and infrastructure teams to automate deployments, improve system reliability, and ensure smooth operations in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).
- Manage and automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Monitor and improve system performance, scalability, and reliability across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Implement and manage container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE).
- Maintain cloud infrastructure (most Irish roles are AWS-focused; Azure and GCP also appear).
- Manage logging and monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch).
- Support incident response and troubleshoot production issues.
- Collaborate with security teams to apply DevSecOps principles (IAM policies, secrets management, vulnerability scanning).
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement and automation efforts.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 3+ years of DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering experience.
- Solid hands-on experience with AWS (or Azure/GCP).
- Strong scripting knowledge: Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.
- Experience using Terraform or similar IaC tools.
- Familiar with Linux administration and networking fundamentals.
- Understanding of CI/CD best practices.
Desirable (nice to have):
- Exposure to serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Experience with configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Knowledge of monitoring & alerting tools (Datadog, Splunk, Grafana).
- Understanding of security and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR).
- Familiarity with Agile and GitOps practices.
Education / Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) is a plus.
