Designer

My client, a successful and growing supplier to major retailers in Europe, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Textile Designer to join their team. You will be a proactive person, who works autonomously interpreting trends and developing product ranges. You will manage multiple accounts maintaining long term partnerships with customers and buyers. South Dublin location.

Responsibilities of this Textile Designer include:

• Research and translate current trends for homeware ranges.
• Forecast trends at the start of the season and create mood/color/ trend boards aligned with customer profiles.
• Design commercial, trend-led, multi-product ranges for clients, including sourcing new fabrics and products.
• Keep up to date with trends and monitor competition.
• Oversee range and customer sampling.
• Attend customer meetings in the UK and Ireland.
• Present trends, samples, and developments to customers and address design requests with the merchandising teams.
• Liaise with merchandising teams in China on sample developments and follow-ups.

Requirements for this Textile Designer:

• Driven and enthusiastic with industry experience at the Designer level, preferably in Homeware or Fashion.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.
• Experience working with UK, Irish, and European High Street clients.
• Strong presentation, communication skills, excellent attention to detail and through execution.
• Creative and trend-driven with commercial awareness of retail and consumer trends.
• Confident in leading meetings with buyers and management, understanding their requirements.
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator with exceptional CAD skills for trend packs, product development, and tech packs specifications.
