Team: Cadence TMS Product Development
Type: Full-time
We’re building an AI-native Transport Management System (TMS) that centralizes all logistics operations - from fleet tracking and repair management to recruiting, dispatch, and compliance.
The Fleet module is the foundation of the platform, integrating data from Samsara, Monday.com, EFS, and other systems into one reliable source of truth.
You’ll work alongside a small but high-performing engineering team to design and implement robust, scalable backend features for the TMS.
- Develop and maintain backend services using Laravel and Inertia.js.
- Build and optimize API integrations (Samsara, Monday.com, EFS, WorkOS, Digital Permit Book).
- Implement real-time data synchronization via Redis and WebSockets.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless data flow between React and backend.
- Design and maintain database schemas for equipment, drivers, repairs, and compliance data.
- Contribute to automation and workflow logic, replacing fragmented systems like Excel, Outlook, and Telegram.
- Write clean, testable code and participate in sprint planning and code reviews.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment through Laravel Forge (DigitalOcean).
- Work closely with fleet managers to translate real-world workflows into scalable backend logic.
- 3+ years of experience with PHP / Laravel.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, database design (MySQL or PostgreSQL), and queues (Redis).
- Experience with authentication/authorization systems (SSO, OAuth, RBAC).
- Familiarity with WebSockets and real-time event systems.
- Comfortable working with third-party APIs and managing data consistency.
- Strong Git (Bitbucket) and CI/CD workflow understanding.
- Strong problem-solving mindset - especially around complex integrations and data flow reliability.
- Experience with logistics, fleet management, or ERP-like systems.
- Knowledge of Samsara API, Monday.com API, or EFS financial data integration.
- Familiarity with React and Inertia.js architecture.
- Experience optimizing Laravel apps for high concurrency and data-heavy operations.
- Interest in AI-based automation or data-driven workflows.
- Be part of a high-impact system that replaces dozens of disconnected tools for real-world logistics operations.
- Collaborate directly with domain experts - every feature you build solves an immediate operational problem.
- Flexible remote setup with a European-based core team.
- Opportunity to grow into a Tech Lead or System Architect role as the TMS evolves.
