Danske Bank is seeking a dedicated Risk & Controls Officer to support our Digital Assets strategy within the Transaction Banking and Large Corporates & Institutions domain. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative area of banking, where innovation meets compliance and risk management.
In this position, you will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to digital assets, particularly in the context of crypto and blockchain technologies. You will work closely with business stakeholders to develop and implement robust risk management frameworks that align with our broader Digital Assets strategy.
The workplace is located in Warsaw, Poland or Vilnius, Lithuania. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, where we work at least 3 days in the office).
This role does not include a relocation allowance.
You will:
- Act as a subject matter expert on risks associated with digital assets, including crypto and blockchain
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure that risk events are captured, assessed, and managed effectively
- Support business units in navigating regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to digital assets
- Conduct risk assessments for new digital asset processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the evolving regulatory landscape for digital assets and crypto
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote risk awareness across the organisation
- Engage with key stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations on risk management strategies
- Have 3 to 5 years of experience in Risk management, Compliance, Legal or related fields, preferably within the Financial Services sector. Alternatively, experience within Digital assets operations and/or strategy
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape for digital assets, with knowledge of relevant legislation such as: Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR), Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) & Other relevant regulations and guidelines such as ESMA guidelines, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Markets in Financial Instruments Directives (MiFID), EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives (AMLD), EU Payment Services Directives (PSD)
- Demonstrated ability to assess and manage risks associated with innovative financial products
- Communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive and analytical mindset, with a strong focus on execution and attention to detail
- Advanced spoken and written in English is essential
We offer:
This position can be located both in Poland and Lithuania. If the position is located in Lithuania the monthly salary range will be from 3360 EUR to 5040 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
