Your new role and environment.


The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for developing the Global Ahold Delhaize IT functional roadmap by partnering with the business (process owners within a business domain (e.g. Supply chain, Merchandizing, Store Operation, Data Analytics, Brand/CSM, Marketing & Support) to deliver simple and efficient to use business processes and systems.

Within the overall GSO Tech IT strategy and guidelines, understand, analyse, translate and guide business requirements into part of (or entire) automated system solutions, coordinate the deployment of the solution and ensure the handover/support in order to ensure that IT solutions: - cover to a maximum all stakeholder requirements and answer maximally to all relevant business requirements - are feasible and realizable (technically, organizationally, economically)- can be realized (or are realized for the solutions delivered by the job itself) on time, within budget and agreed scope, fulfilling all requirements (such as quality, sustainability requirements, etc.) - cover end-to-end solutions (all stages) of the solution life cycle



Key responsibilities of your role.

  • Build and maintain relationships to become a trusted advisor, based on Business-IT knowledge and competence
  • Work with Business and IT to develop an improvement strategy and approach fitting into the overall business and IT strategies
  • Accountable for identifying, understanding and prioritizing business needs and challenges and set more detailed scope of projects
  • Develop and obtain approval for investment proposals in conjunction with business stakeholders and other IT functions
  • Member of program/project steering committee as accountable for IT organization during definition, initiation and execution of the projects
  • Stakeholder management, manage business expectations on which business and IT jointly will deliver
  • Ensure all security and compliance aspects are taken into account (secure by design, compliant by design)
  • Analyze leading edge IT industry and market trends and determine potential disruption and innovative business opportunities for Ahold Delhaize IT
  • Signal improvements and optimize current IT tooling, languages and techniques
  • Built and/or maintain relationships with existing suppliers to leverage the maximum out of their solution capabilities
  • Analyze leading edge IT industry and market trends and determine potential disruption and innovative business opportunities for Ahold Delhaize IT
  • Communicate to end users, business departments and any other internal or external party on the solution
  • Stay up to date when it comes to bugs, problem fixing linked to systems
  • Liaise with vendor support organizations to solve problems when necessary

Requirements.


We think you’ll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

  • Works independently and performs complex analysis/advice
  • Advanced Business Analyst skills
  • Ability to change behavior of key stakeholders
  • Primarily advising/interacting with teams, integrating ideas
  • Responsible for analysis and advice to tactically and strategically (Director/VP up) focused business teams
  • Functional management role for group of Business Analysts
  • Relevant Bachelor/Master degree
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience
