The Data and Learning Analytics Lead will partner with the Director of Innovation and Technology to drive data-informed decision making, integrate whole-school systems, and foster innovation in coding, AI, maker culture, and digital learning. The role bridges academic technology, data analytics, dashboard development, and storytelling, ensuring that technology and data serve teaching, learning, and school operations in meaningful and strategic ways.

This is a full-time position and will begin in August of 2026. Only applications from internal candidates will be accepted.

The Role

The Data and Learning Analytics Lead is expected to:

Data Strategy & Systems Integration

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of school-wide data dashboards and reporting systems (student performance, teaching & learning, operations, admissions, and overall enrolment)
  • Integrate systems across departments/subjects for seamless data flow and interoperability (ie, MTSS, MAP data, etc.)
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, security, privacy, and ethical use of data in compliance with GDPR
  • Train staff to interpret and use data effectively for strategic and classroom-level decision making.
  • Work with IT and Facilities teams to ensure data is presented where it makes sense and in a way that is easily visible (e.g.: screens at main entries, etc.) and understandable

Innovation in Academic Technology, Coding & AI

  • Lead exploration and pilot projects for maker space innovation
  • Collaborate with academic leaders and teachers to identify and develop innovative learning experiences within the maker spaces
  • Identify and champion community-building opportunities within the maker space
  • Partner with external organizations to extend the academic innovation culture within ISZL
  • Facilitate professional learning and workshops on creative uses of maker space experimentation

Stakeholder Engagement & Storytelling

  • Translate complex data insights into compelling narratives for leadership, faculty, and parents
  • Design dashboards, reports, and visualizations that make data actionable and meaningful
  • Serve as a bridge between academic technology and operational IT, ensuring alignment and clarity in innovation initiatives

Project & Change Management

  • Advise on the lifecycle of academic technology from design to evaluation and data projects from design to implementation
  • Ensure new initiatives are well-supported by IT infrastructure and resources
  • Establish clear metrics for adoption, performance, and impact, and use them to refine practices
  • Monitor global trends in edtech, AI in education, and data analytics to inform continuous improvement

Professional Development & Community Building

  • Design and deliver PD for staff on digital pedagogy, data literacy, AI tools, and maker learning
  • Foster a community of practice that encourages innovation and experimentation
  • Support student-led initiatives such as coding clubs, hackathons, maker events and more
  • Share ISZL’s innovation and learning stories internally and externally, working with the Marketing and Communications team

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Degree in Education required; preference given to candidates with additional studies, certifications, or training in Educational Technology, Data Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines
  • 3–5+ years of experience in academic technology, data analytics, or related innovation roles, ideally in an international school setting
  • Technical expertise in data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, specific AI tools, etc.) and integrations (APIs, SIS/LMS)
  • Experience with AI tools, coding platforms, and maker-space environments
  • Strong understanding of educational data analytics, data ethics, and GDPR
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and manage complex projects
  • Experience designing and delivering professional learning on technology integration
