About the role 

This is your chance to be one of the pioneers to realize a unique product in the medical sector. We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer who becomes the driving factor within our frontend development. You'll be responsible for building a modern, high-performing, stateful frontend using Vue 3 and Pinia, working closely with designers, frontend and backend developers. 

The system will behave like a specialized web-based application, where speed, state management, and smooth navigation are essential. If you thrive in environments where performance, predictable UX, and architectural ownership are key, we like to talk! 

What you’ll do 

• Drive the design and development of the frontend application using Vue 3, Pinia, and modern tooling. 
• Build a rich, desktop-like user experience that feels fast, stateful, and seamless. 
• Integrate with real-time backend services (e.g., chat, notifications, or live patient data) while ensuring secure data flows and need-to-know access principles. 
• Work closely with the UI/UX designers to define UI patterns, component structures, and behavior-driven design. 
• Make sure our application meets formal healthcare certification criteria (e.g., NEN7510, ISO27001), including end-to-end encryption awareness in the UI and client-side protections. 
• Ensure the application is highly performant, accessible, and maintainable across a wide range of setups. 
• Collaborate with backend engineers on security-by-design patterns, including end-to-end encryption handling in chat and patient data workflows. 

Who you are 

• Outgoing personality with a strong drive. 
• 5+ years of experience as a senior frontend developer, ideally in product-driven or complex application environments. 
• Expert in Vue.js 3, Pinia, and TypeScript. 
• Proven experience building stateful, single-page applications that mimic OS-like behavior (e.g., fullscreen apps, complex data-driven UIs). 
• Experience working with real-time data streams (WebSockets, SSE, etc.), with awareness of security considerations (e.g., message encryption, validation, replay attack protection). 
• Strong knowledge of performance optimization, component-based architecture, and behavior prediction techniques. 
• Pro-active collaborator with backend teams on API integration and data modeling. 
• Strong communication skills and confident expressing yourself in English. 
• Based in the Netherlands, preferably located within 1.5 hours of Rotterdam. 
• Willing to work fully on-site initially. In order to establish the fundamentals, we prioritize on-site collaboration, with flexibility increasing over time. 
• Previous experience in an agile environment. 

Nice to have 

• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms or business-critical tools. 
• Familiarity with chat features or collaborative tools where E2E encryption is part of the architecture. 
• Experience or interest in 3D rendering (Three.js, Babylon.js) or Canvas/WebGL for imaging tools. 
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
