Cisco ACI Network Engineer

  • • Data Centre related certification (CCIE, CCNP VCP, etc.) with a drive for continuous learning.
  • • Deep technical knowledge / understandings of L2 / L3 networking protocols and technologies (VPC, STP, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • • Strong Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K platform knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • • Has deep knowledge of overlay technologies VXLAN, BGP EVPN, OTV, LISP.
  • • Has knowledge and understandings of Cisco SDN based technologies such as Cisco ACI, Cisco Programmable Network Portfolio (Standalone VXLAN-Fabric) and DCNM.
  • • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in design and/or deployment of Data Center solutions including traditional DC standalone Nexus design, VXLAN Fabric-based ACI Fabric solutions using ACI MultiPod / Multisite Fabric architectures.
  • • Cisco ACI Design and Implementation: Design, plan, and implement Cisco ACI solutions based on business requirements. Configure and deploy ACI fabrics, policies, and application profiles.
  • • Network Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced-level support for network-related issues, including ACI-related incidents. Troubleshoot and resolve network problems in collaboration with the network operations team.
  • • Policy Management: Implement and manage policies and security controls within the Cisco ACI fabric. Ensure compliance with security standards and industry best practices.
  • • Network Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline routine tasks and enhance network efficiency. Work towards creating a self-service model for network provisioning and management.
  • • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning for the Cisco ACI infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Monitor and analyze network traffic patterns and resource utilization.
  • • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for Cisco ACI configurations, changes, and procedures. Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine tasks.
  • • Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT teams, including system administrators, security professionals, and application developers. Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate ACI with other technologies.
  • • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior engineers and other IT staff. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements related to Cisco ACI.
  • • Proficient in configuring and managing network monitoring and management platform, e.g., SolarWinds, ServiceNOW
