We're seeking an exceptional Model Management to join our Data team!
The Model Management supports Principal - Data Analytics in delivering end-to-end data analytics solutions within AECB. This includes ensuring timely and high-quality analysis and the creation of market-level insights. The role is crucial in transforming information into valuable insights that drive business decisions and contribute directly to the growth of the country's economic sector. The incumbent is responsible for building, designing, and prototyping next-generation analytics engines and services, monitor internal Bureau Model on a periodic basis and supports on all Model & Score related Analytical projects. They provide insights to the senior management to facilitate strategic decision-making by leveraging expertise in machine learning, data mining, and predictive intelligence. They lead niche analytics assignments and pilots, assisting customers in achieving their analytical objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Data Analytics Principal in implementing and closely monitoring the data analytics strategy, roadmap, and implementation plan. Act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive business expansion in the specialized analytics field.
- Own Bureau Models, develop and maintain model inventory, model remediation tracker, perform regular monitoring activities (in line with the Central Bank guidelines) and support all score-related activities.
- Manage PoCs from the external partners in close co-ordination with Business, perform Retro scoring for validation purposes.
- Be an integral member of Model Oversight Panel (MoPa) to present model journey at each model stage, discuss the Model findings and recommend the next steps with clear actionable and timelines.
- Lead the analysis of any “new data source” received by the Bureau and its impact on the existing Models and other analytical deliverables.
- Provide support in end-to-end data analytics activities within the organization. This includes operating and continuously improving data analytics tools and platforms, designing and preparing operational, data quality, and management reports on a periodic basis.
- Resolve complex problems with large amounts of data in a computationally efficient and statistically effective manner.
- Assist in generating daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly data reports that inform decision-making for Heads of Departments and internal committees.
- Coordinate a team of both internal and external resources involved in daily data analytics activities.
- Support other Section Managers and Heads of Departments in aligning data analytics initiatives with business objectives and overall corporate goals.
- Log and address service-desk tickets to resolve internal and external issues related to data analytics and model management.
- Support and close tickets raised by Customer Experience team on Score Issues, perform the deep-down analysis on the customer issue and resolve them in co-ordination with CX specialists.
- Lead and assist in developing, monitoring, validating, and enhancing existing credit bureau scores and indicators, such as credit scores for individuals and companies, alternate scores, cheque Score and ECL (PD/EAD/LGD) models leveraging Bureau’s developed model monitoring tool “Ignite”.
- Create and present to government and regulatory entities (e.g., central bank, DED, SCAD, DCD etc) on score and other analytic capabilities to help develop understanding and build synergies.
- Manage vendor relationships for analytics deliverables, including testing and validating products/deliverables from vendors. Ensure the highest quality and timely delivery within the allocated budgets, which is a critical responsibility of the team.
- Conduct market analysis and identify trends to develop benchmarking reports and assess analytics products in the market.
- Develop analytical tools and technologies for standardized and automated data extraction from databases for algorithms and processes.
- Bring an "Economist eye" to the implementation of new reports, dashboards, and products, with a specific focus on benchmarking reports.
- Manage and ensure timely delivery of all enhancements related to data analytics tools and platforms. This involves managing the end-to-end project lifecycle, liaising with the Project Management Office (PMO) function, and coordinating accurate implementation, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
What We’re Looking For
Education:
- Education specialization or master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, or related field
- Proficient in English
- Proficient in Arabic (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum experience of 4-6 years in data analytics & Model Management role
- Hands-on track experience in executing data strategies and delivering results
- Knowledge in credit bureau, information services or technology-driven industries
- Expertise in developing credit risk scorecards and risk strategies using statistical and AI/ ML based techniques
- Knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS) (R, Python, PySpark)
- Experience with Bl tools and reporting software (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, Pentaho, MS Power Bl, MS Excel)
- Able to deal with varied tasks and to work under pressure to meet deadlines and targets
- Able to work effectively and responsibly without close supervision
