Production Support Engineer | Swords, Co. Dublin
A global engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking a hands-on Production Support Engineer to join its team in Swords, Co. Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-performing manufacturing environment, supporting multiple production cells and driving
continuous improvement.
About the Role
The Production Support Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and improving manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure efficiency, reliability, and high-quality output across production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and optimise existing manufacturing processes and product quality.
- Define and validate processes for new or upgraded products.
- Provide technical support for assembly jigs, fixtures, and test equipment.
- Conduct process analysis and prepare quality reports.
- Work closely with Engineers and Production staff to implement improvements.
- Collaborate with Product Designers to ensure design-for-assembly principles are achieved.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a medium or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical background with practical, hands-on ability.
- Experience using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools such as SPC, Gauge R&R, and Process Capability.
- Data analysis experience using Excel, Power BI, SQL, or VBA.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
- Experience designing and validating fixtures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
