Business Analyst (Financial / Banking Domain | Expertise in Data Lineage & Visio)

About the Role

Diatom Technologies is seeking an accomplished Business Analyst with proven experience in Financial Services or Banking and strong hands-on expertise in Data Lineage, Process Mapping, and Microsoft Visio.

You will bridge business and technology teams to define, document, and deliver key transformation initiatives for leading Irish financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements workshops and translate business needs into detailed functional specifications.
• Design and document end-to-end data lineage and business process flows using Microsoft Visio.
• Analyse data movement between systems and capture source-to-target mappings and dependencies.
• Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and solution architects to ensure traceability across the SDLC.
• Support UAT planning, defect triage, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience & Skills

• 4 + years’ experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services / Banking / Insurance.
• Proven expertise in Data Lineage, Data Mapping, and Impact Analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Visio for process documentation and workflow design.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SQL, Excel, and Agile delivery environments.

Preferred Profile

• Currently based in Ireland or within the EU.
• Strong familiarity with the Irish Financial Services environment and experience with Irish clients or regulatory frameworks.
• Prior exposure to Life & Pensions, Insurance, or Regulatory Transformation programmes is a plus.
