Company Description:
Aistech Space is focused on generating affordable, recurrent, high resolution thermal imagery of the planet to provide a new perspective of Earth’s changing resources. The company is based in Barcelona and aims to revolutionize remote sensing for environmental monitoring and resource management.
What you will do:
Aistech Space is looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to take charge of defining, designing, and implementing the frontend of a new Earth Observation platform to engage with Aistech clients. This new position offers the opportunity to rotate through the user segment team, driving architectural decisions on either back-end and front-end software modules related to our in-house and cloud infrastructure projects.
In this role, you are expected to act as a core contributor within an agile, highly collaborative unit, driving short, client-driven development iterations. You will also be responsible for enforcing internal standards and best practices in project management, documentation, and code quality.
The key objectives to be achieved during the rotational period are:
- Deeply understand Aistech Space mission objectives and align technical decisions with business goals.
- Work closely with the user segment development team, providing mentorship and code reviews.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve the scalability and usability of the front-end infrastructure.
- Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new technologies, products, and services to maintain a competitive edge.
- Lead the definition and analysis of front-end software requirements and ensure robust implementation using an Agile methodology.
- Write highly testable, efficient code, and lead the creation of technical documentation and presentations.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams: space, ground, user, and operations infrastructure teams aligned with business development.
- Proactively evaluate web engineering approaches, mitigate risks, and resolve technical debt.
- Write authoritative articles regarding different areas of interest to be published in our Aistech News magazine and on our website blog.
- Lead the development of documentation to build out company procedures and specification manuals.
- Follow your curiosity to suggest and prototype new ideas to make our products and processes better.
Who you are:
Must:
- BSc/MSc Computer Science, Web Design & Development, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of professional experience in full-stack or front-end heavy development.
- Strong interest in space technologies.
- Proven experience implementing modern programming architectures (DDD, Hexagonal, microservices) in production environments.
- Open-minded developer with a strong portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving.
- Deep expertise in front-end development using modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular/Vue/Next.js).
- Advanced proficiency with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Extensive experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating complex front-end applications with backend services.
- Proficiency with front-end build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and comprehensive testing strategies (Unit, E2E).
- Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and the ability to bridge the gap between design and engineering.
- Ability to architect and design functional applications from start to end autonomously.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have:
- Production experience with Golang or Python.
- Strong knowledge of containerized applications (e.g., Docker) and orchestration.
- Deep knowledge of Cloud-native concepts and serverless architectures.
- Knowledge of open geospatial application standards and formats (e.g., OGC's WMS, WMTS, API, STAC, COG, etc.).
- Possibility to integrate with backend and infrastructure teams if interested, allowing for cross-functional exposure and growth.
