The Opportunity : Technical Platform Manager
About the Role
As a Technical Platform Manager , you will be a specialized product leader who focuses on building and improving the platforms, tools, and systems that serve as the foundation for our health and wellbeing technology ecosystem. You'll work at the intersection of technology and health services, ensuring our product teams have the robust, scalable platforms they need to deliver world-class health solutions.
What You'll Do
Platform Strategy & Vision
● Define and execute the technical roadmap for our Employer Health and Wellbeing platforms, tools, and infrastructure systems
● Collaborate with engineering teams to guide platform development and ensure alignment with business objectives
● Drive platform adoption across development teams and measure success through developer experience metrics
Technical Leadership
● Define technical requirements and specifications for complex platform solutions ● Work closely with engineering teams on distributed system architectures, cloud infrastructure, and scalable platform design
● Manage highly technical products including APIs, developer tools, and internal service platforms
Developer Experience Excellence
● Champion developer experience initiatives to improve productivity and reduce friction for internal teams
● Gather feedback from internal users (developers, engineers, data scientists) to continuously improve platform capabilities
● Design and implement self-service tools and documentation that enable teams to work efficiently
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Partner with product teams, engineering leadership, and business stakeholders to understand platform needs
● Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams to ensure platform solutions meet business requirements
● Drive platform governance and standards across the organization
What You Bring
Technical Expertise
● 5+ years of product management experience with at least 2+ years focused on platform, infrastructure, or developer tools
● Strong technical background with understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, and modern software development practices
● Experience with healthcare technology systems and regulatory requirements (an asset)
Product Management Excellence
● Proven track record of managing complex technical products and internal platforms ● Strong systems thinking ability to understand how different components interact within larger ecosystems
● Experience with agile development methodologies and cross-functional team leadership
Communication & Leadership
● Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
● Experience gathering requirements from technical users and translating them into actionable product roadmaps
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making approach
