Job Title: Network Configuration, Racking & Stacking Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Configuration and Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience in network device configuration, racking, stacking, and installation. The ideal candidate will ensure proper deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment in data centers or enterprise environments, following best practices for operational efficiency, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Racking & Stacking:

Physically install and secure network equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and servers into racks in data centers or server rooms.

Ensure proper cable management, airflow, and adherence to rack layout and labeling standards.

Perform stacking of network switches and configure high-availability stacking protocols where applicable.

Network Configuration

Configure network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, access points) according to network design and standards.

Implement VLANs, IP addressing, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), and access control lists (ACLs).

Verify connectivity, performance, and network health after configuration changes.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

Troubleshoot hardware and software network issues, escalate complex issues when necessary.

Perform firmware upgrades, patches, and maintenance as per the change management schedule.

Maintain accurate records of network configurations, diagrams, and asset inventory.

Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and IT operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration.

Document all installations, configurations, and operational procedures.

Follow safety protocols, data center procedures, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in network racking, stacking, and configuration.

Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching.

Experience with enterprise network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, HPE, etc.).

Understanding of network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.

Knowledge of cabling standards (CAT6/CAT6a/CAT7, fiber optics) and structured cabling.

Ability to read network diagrams and rack layouts.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Physically fit for handling equipment installation and cable management.

Preferred Certifications

Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) or relevant vendor certifications.

Work Environment

Data center or enterprise IT environment with on-site presence required.
