Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team in Doha, Qatar.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data management practices, and Azure Data Services. This role involves establishing and maintaining data governance policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and working closely with technical and business teams to promote high-quality, trusted data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to data quality and management standards.
• Work with the Data Engineering and Analytics teams to enforce governance controls within Azure Data Services, including Databricks.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Conduct data audits, quality assessments, and compliance monitoring activities.
• Manage data classification, lineage, metadata, and stewardship processes.
• Provide insights and governance metrics using data visualization and reporting tools.
• Support organizational awareness and training on data governance principles and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and methodologies.
• Proficient in data management and data quality tools.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Services, particularly Databricks.
• Excellent understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
• Experience in data auditing and compliance monitoring.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in data governance or data management are a plus.
