Overview:
- The Client’s Digital Onboarding Service enables internal and external suppliers to integrate with client’s APIs to access client-specific data and services. To ensure secure and appropriate access, suppliers must complete an API Assurance process that validates their credentials, permissions, and use cases.
This service supports three key user journeys:
- Producer – Client teams who design and maintain the assurance flows for API integration.
- Consumer – Suppliers who apply to integrate with client’s APIs and consume client’s data.
- Reviewer & Approver – Client’s governance teams who assess and approve supplier applications.
- As a Senior Product Manager, you will lead the development and evolution of the onboarding service, ensuring it meets the needs of all stakeholders while aligning with client’s digital strategy and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver product strategies that support secure, scalable, and user-friendly API onboarding experiences.
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for the onboarding service, from discovery through delivery and iteration.
- Collaborate with clients API producers to ensure assurance flows are robust, efficient, and aligned with policy.
- Work closely with suppliers (consumers) to understand integration needs and improve the onboarding experience.
- Partner with governance teams to streamline review and approval processes while maintaining compliance.
- Gather and analyse feedback from users and stakeholders to inform product decisions and prioritization.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with client’s digital goals and timelines.
- Support and mentor product managers and coordinate cross-functional delivery teams.
- Own and review product documentation, including requirements, user journeys, and release plans.
- Monitor product performance and impact, using data to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in product management, ideally within digital services or public sector environments.
- Strong understanding of API ecosystems, assurance processes, and digital governance.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a user-centred mindset.
- Background in software development or programme management is a plus.
- Bonus if you have hands-on experience with Apigee or similar API management platforms, including API publishing, monitoring, and access control.
